As we close our doors for a well deserved break and head into a new year, we would like to wish all of our amazing team, our gorgeous children and our wonderful families, a very merry Christmas and a very happy new year.

It’s not the year any of us could have predicted as we toasted in New years day 2020 and it’s certainly a year none of us will forget in a hurry. It’s something we’ll talk about in years to come as part of the worlds history.

We’re sure we are not the only ones who have spent time reflecting what a strange and quite scary year this has been. It has impacted each and every one of us in different ways and is certainly a year that we hope we never have to repeat.

We couldn’t see the year out with out thanking each and everyone of you for all your support. It’s been a difficult few months for everyone and we wouldn’t be where we are now without the kindness, hard work, commitment and support from our team and our families. We have been overwhelmed at times with the kind words and actions from so many people.

We don’t think we will ever be able to find the right words or means of appreciation that could show our team how fantastic they have been this year. We really wouldn’t be where we are now without them. We have been seeing how hard our team have worked each and every single day through this pandemic. They have worked so hard and given so much support, (as is they don’t work hard enough in a ‘normal’ year,) to us,  the nurseries, the children and their families. This year has seen them do it all in a completely different way and at times it has been extremely tough going. We have seen first hand their hard work, their kindness, their passion and  dedication to the children and the smiles on their faces.  They have had to adapt to a new way of working. New ‘bubbles’, mixed aged groups at times, being more flexible than usual, new practices, new ways of communicating with families and being outside in all weathers. But they did it and have done us proud. We feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have such amazing people in Team Lilliput.

We’re not out of the woods yet and 2021 is still going to be challenging but we have all shown ‘we can do this’.

We have observed and heard of how amazing our team are. They really have gone out of their way to keep the nurseries going and their care and support for each other has been wonderful to see. It’s not been easy for them working in an environment where they cannot social distance, where they come into contact with all sorts of bodily fluids everyday and where PPE has at times been difficult to get hold of, but they’ve just got on with it. They continue to give cuddles when needed and get down to the children’s level so the children have still felt that nursery is the normal happy place to be.

But we can’t go without mentioning our little ones. They really haven’t been given enough credit this year. They have come into a very different nursery to what is the norm and just accepted it. There has been so much chaos and uncertainty in their little world  but we have seen first hand how resilient and positive they are and we really want to thank them for coming into nursery with big smiles on their faces and reminding us how bright and beautiful our world can be.
And then we have our fantastic families. You have supported us throughout this mad year. We had to close our doors to some of you for quite a few weeks and we’ve had to tell some of you that your child needs to isolate. It means the world to us and all of our team that you have been so supportive. Thank you for your understanding and all the kind words you have given over recent months.
We really can’t thank you all enough.

Christmas is going to be very different this year but we can all still enjoy it. We’re going to take time to rest, relax and appreciate what we have got and we hope that you are all able to do that to.

Stay safe and have a very happy Christmas and new year.

We look forward to seeing you in 2021 where things can only get better.

Lots of Love to you all

Alison and Steve
