Here at Lilliput Day Nursery we are very proud of our settings and the facilities that we offer to our families but we are only as good as our team of practitioners. And as nursery practitioner’s go, we have a pretty amazing bunch who go above and beyond to meet the needs of the children and families that we care for day in and day out. We are extremely proud of them and thought you might like to meet us all.
Alison is a NNEB qualified Nursery Nurse with more than 30 years experience in the childcare sector.
Having worked in private nurseries and Birmingham Social Services Day Nurseries I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience of a wide diversity of children and their families. For 5 years I also worked in the Early Years department of a further education college teaching and training future nursery nurses before opening my first nursery in June 2005 when my youngest daughter was 9 weeks old!
Steve is an experienced building contractor with over 30 years experience. He originally refurbished both nurseries to an extremely high standard and continues to maintain and develop them. In recent years both nurseries have had their gardens refurbished and during 2018 Steve refurbished our Rubery nursery.
We opened our first nursery in Rubery during 2005, followed by our second setting in Kings Heath during 2010.
Hi my name is Charlotte. (Nursery Manager)
I am a level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in childcare. At least 10 of which have been as part of a management team. I joined Lilliput Day Nursery in June 2010 as Deputy Manager at the Kings Heath Day Nursery. I then moved to the Rubery nursery in September 2010 after being promoted to manager. Being nursery manager has many challenges but it is also a very rewarding role. I love watching the children enjoy the experiences we offer here at Lilliput and seeing them grow and develop. I also get a lot of satisfaction from building relationships with the many children and their families that come here. 2018 has been a very exciting time at Lilliput Day Nursery in Rubery with the refurbishment and turning the nursery into a more open plan space with lots of free flow opportunities for the children.
Hi, my name is Emily and I am one of the Deputy Managers at the Rubery setting.
I am a level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner with over 5 year’s experience of childcare and also a child of my own.
I have been with Lilliput for nearly 3 years and during my time here I have been Room leader and Senior Nursery Nurse. I am now Deputy manager of the setting and I am really enjoying this role. I am passionate about all the children in my care and enjoying shaping the young minds of the children of our future. The refurbishment is a really exciting time for us all, especially the children who are loving the new look and resources.
Hi my name is Vicky (Deputy Manager)
I am a level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner with over 18 years experience, 11 of these are with Lilliput.
I started off at Lilliput as a senior Nursery Nurse working with 2-3 year olds, after 2 years I then went on to become deputy manager working within the baby room. I have had a lot of experience within the two nurseries as I have worked and managed at them both. I am now one of the Deputy Managers at Lilliput Day Nursery in Rubery where I enjoy sharing information and ideas and also supporting the staff when needed. I have also embedded the Startwell programme across both nurseries, helping them towards gaining levels 1 and 2 and I also played an active role in helping to design and implement the refurbishment.
Hello, my name is Vikki
I’m a level 4 practitioner in childcare and started working at Lilliput in March 2017. I currently work in Little Learners with the 2 -3 year old children. I am a mother of 2 and I enjoy all arts and crafts and often bring my ideas into nursery for the children to explore.
Hi, my name’s Chloe
I’m a level 3 early years apprentice at Lilliput and am enjoying every minute of it. I have been inspired by all the staff and am learning new things everyday. I am a level 3 qualified Play Worker which involves interacting with the children and making sure all their developmental needs are met. I did this for 4 years but have always wanted to work in a nursery so decided to undertake my early years qualification.
Hi, I’m Claire (Senior Nursery Nurse)
I am a level 3 qualified nursery nurse and I work in Rainbow Room with the babies and have been at Lilliput since January 2016. I love every aspect of my job, especially increasing children’s knowledge through play and of course the bond that develops between the carer and child. I have 3 children, 1 granddaughter , 2 dogs and 5 cats, oh and not forgetting the tortoise!!!
Before working here I was a childminder and employed assistants. I have had previous experience of supervising staff and was promoted to Senior Nursery Nurse during 2018.
Hi, I’m Kimberley

Hi I’m Tracy
I’m the Lilliput Day Nursery cook. My background in cooking is as a manager at Cafe Rouge where I worked front of house, as a manager you have to be fully trained in the kitchen for cooking and hygiene standards. I’ve also worked at Webbs Garden Centre as a catering supervisor. But most importantly I’m a mum of 5 children and a nanny to 1 grandson and am always cooking. I really have a passion for cooking and baking and love my job at Lilliput. It makes me feel like a stay at home mum looking after all the children’s food and nutrition needs.
